The hotel is situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, and just a short walk to the village of Grasmere. It stands in several acres of beautifully kept gardens leading to the shore of Grasmere Lake, opposite Dove Cottage. This attractive 72 bedroom hotel has the style and atmosphere of an old country house and is the ideal location for exploring this magnificent area, whether on foot or by car. There is free car parking on site. Unfortunately, due to the age of the building, the hotel does not have a lift.

Chris uses his considerable experience of around 30 years in the hospitality industry and Lake District hotels in the day to day management and on-going development programme of the Rothay Garden Hotel and Restaurant. Rothay Garden Hotel is one of the finest hotels in Grasmere and one of the most highly regarded hotels in the Lake District - as such we have received a variety of awards: 2 AA Rosettes for restaurant food 1997 to 2006.
