Our hotel is a traditional old English coaching inn with real ales and fantastic home-cooked food. Be a part of our strong local trade, and enjoy the music and traditional dancing performed by the Morris men. Its large bar provides a selection of traditional ales, fine wines and good food. Diners can choose to eat from the interesting and varied menu whilst enjoying the large open fireplace set in the heart of our bar area. Thaxted itself is a charming Tudor village, with some of its buildings dating back to the 14th century, including the Guildhall and the church (180 foot spire). The well preserved Tower Windmill is also worth visiting as it houses a museum of rural life. Stansted Airport is only 15 minute drive away. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift.

Thaxted Hall, for non-smokers, is located in stunningly picturesque Thaxted, ideal for Cambridge and East Anglia. It is a family-run hotel for business and leisure travellers. Why take a luggage laden 10 minute walk, when a luxurious, 12 minute door-to-terminal transfer is available. The guest's unlimited parking fee (GBP 29) includes luxury transfer to and from Stansted Airport (12 minutes), subject to providing flight numbers, dates and times when making your reservation. Vehicles are parked at owner's risk, although every reasonable safeguard is assured. Thaxted Hall is located within a comfortably short drive from the airport, yet distant enough to remain totally undisturbed by departing aircraft. Breakfast is available between 07:00 and 09:30 daily. A light continental, self-service breakfast is GBP 4.50 per person, and a full English breakfast costs GBP 11.75 when pre-ordered. Lunch is served from midday to 14:30, dinner from 18:30 to 21:30 (last orders 20.45), with 10% deduction for guests at the in-house Larkswood Restaurant. The restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings, and all day on Mondays. The attractive grounds are surrounded by open countryside and the hotel operates a non-smoking policy throughout the building.
