Pearse House is an attractive and imposing Victorian mansion set in its own grounds some thirty miles north-east of central London and easily accessible via the m25/m11. The present building dates from the middle of the last century and its mock Elizabethan facade protects many fine examples of English craftsmanship, amongst them some excellent examples of brass, plasterwork and stained glass.

This grade 2 listed building is set amid landscaped gardens, and is just 3 miles from London Stansted Airport. Adjacent to a country inn serving lunchtime and evening meals, this accommodation is convenient, comfortable and cosy. All rooms are located in our listed, converted barn, and are fully en suite; each room also has its own private entrance. Free station/airport transfers are available from 07:00 - 11:00, and from 16:00 - 21:00. Long term parking is also available. Continental breakfast is available at any time in our self service breakfast area. This is especially convenient for those guests that have early morning flights. A late check-in (after 23:00) can be offered (by prior arrangement).

The precise age of Bonningtons is not known, however 1st records originate from the early 1600s, so it is likely that the house predates this by a few years indicating a very late 16th century or early 17th century property. It is now a grade II listed building with a number of key listed features. Records are not precise but at some stage the property was acquired by the Houblon's Hallingbury estate. Bonningtons itself was reportedly the home of the estate manager. The estate itself also included Hatfield Forest. It was Jacob Houblon that created the current lake to be found in the centre of the forest, some time around 1740. Jacobs son further enhanced the estate and forest around 1770 with the consultation of the famous landscaper Capability Brown adding further exotic trees and some areas opened up to improve the views. The lake itself was also altered at this time.

Our premises is the ideal venue for small to medium-sized gatherings. Our professional team of staff are on hand to ensure your day goes off without a hitch. Our restaurant which can be set up for boardroom, theatre or informal-style meetings, seats up to 80 delegates. Furthermore, we also have small meeting rooms which can be used for up to 6 delegates and are ideal for interviews, informal directors' meetings etc. As a restaurant we have several added advantages. The first involves privacy - unlike most purpose-built conference centres, which may have numerous functions running at the same time, we offer peace, quiet and absolute discretion. Our staff are available all day for the conference, unlike other hotels who transfer them to other duties as soon as your delegates sit down.
