| The Mercure Whately Hall Hotel is several hundred years old, and is spacious and comfortably furnished. The Mercure Whately Hall Hotel, originally a 17th-century coaching inn, is close to Banbury Cross. The bedrooms, varying in size and style, are well equipped. Spacious and very comfortable public areas include cosy lounges and an informal bar. Some of the original oak panelling and the black beams are still intact and service is attentive and friendly. The Mercure Whately Hall Hotel is set in its own gardens and has a croquet lawn for you to enjoy yourselves on and work up an appetite before dinner. Situated on the famous Banbury Cross, the Mercure Whately Hall Hotel dates from 1632, a charming hotel which makes a great base for visits to Broughton Castle, Upton, the surrounding Cotswolds and Oxfordshire countryside. | A majestic 17th century building, with an elegant restaurant that offers an imaginative menu and good service. Food is also served on the terrace of the large enclosed garden. The Cromwell, having recently benefited from a refurbishment, has 23 en- suite rooms, a conference/meeting room that can accommodate up to 40 people, and there is free parking at the rear of the hotel. The hotel is centrally located in Banbury close to all the amenities and a lively night life. An ideal base from which to visit the beautiful Cotswold villages, as well as Oxford, Cheltenham and Cirencester. With our recently refurbished restaurant area, we can now comfortably accommodate up to 60 people. We offer our breakfast buffet in the restaurant and the opening times for lunch and evening meals are as follows: Monday-Friday: 12:00–14:00, 18:00-21:00. Saturday and Sunday: 12:00-15:00, 18:00-20:00. This area can also be used for private functions, with various buffet and sit down meals that we can provide for you. We can also offer our recently refurbished garden room (accommodating for up to 25 people) for private functions or conferences. We offer a conference pack, with various offers to suit your needs. We also offer a bar, with a relaxing atmosphere, that is open from 11:00 everyday, until 23:00 Monday-Thursday, 00:00 Friday and Saturday, and 22:30 Sunday. We have a log fire in the bar area, making it a nice, warm and cosy place to be in the winter. Our spacious garden is a lovely area to sit during the summer. There is a car parking space at the rear of the hotel. |  |

| The inn overlooks the old village green. The bar has a list of landlords dating back to before the Civil War. In the civil war, the inn was a Royalist-owned hostelry. The restaurant serves the best English and Continental cuisine, and the hotel offers facilities for small private functions and conferences. The Red Lion is an appropriately tawny colour to suit the noun, if not the adjective, in its name. A former coaching inn, it has old oak decoration and stone chimneys. It is most pleasantly situated overlooking the old village green. The bar has a list of the inn's landlords, dating back to before the Civil War, when it was a Royalist owned hostelry. The ideal tourist and busines centre, with easy access and safe parking. A magnificent coaching inn steeped in history, overlooking the village green in this most beautiful of Oxfordshire villages. Luxuriously appointed and sympatheically maintained in the finest traditional manner. with a wealth of old oak and stone chimney pieces of considerable interest to lovers of our english heritage. Long hidden features discovered during restoration indicate that this ancient Royalist owned hostelry dates from before the English Civil War. |  |
